Hardwood Refinishing
Restore Your Hardwood Floors to Their Original Beauty
Worn, scratched, or faded hardwood floors do not need to be replaced. Professional refinishing restores them to like-new condition. At Threshing Floors, we refinish hardwood floors across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, bringing decades of character back to life with expert sanding, staining, and finishing.
We handle the heavy lifting so you do not have to. Furniture moving is included with every refinishing project. Our team takes care of clearing and resetting your rooms so you can focus on picking the perfect new look for your floors. Whether you want to take dated golden oak to a modern matte finish or simply restore the original warmth of your floors, we have the experience to get it right.
Many older homes throughout the greater Philadelphia area have original hardwood that is denser and more durable than anything available today. Refinishing preserves that irreplaceable material while giving your home a fresh, updated look. Our dustless sanding systems keep your home clean, and we offer fast-drying finish options that let you get back on your floors sooner. Some water-based finishes are ready for light foot traffic the same day.

Our Refinishing Process
Inspection & Consultation
We evaluate your existing floors, checking wood species, board thickness, and damage. We discuss stain colors, finish options, and set clear expectations on timeline.
Preparation & Sanding
We clear the space, seal doorways, and sand floors in multiple passes with progressively finer grits using dustless equipment. Edges and corners are detailed with precision.
Staining & Finish Application
If you are changing the color, stain is applied evenly and allowed to dry. Then we apply 2-3 coats of your chosen finish (water-based poly, oil-based poly, or hardwax oil) with light sanding between coats.
Final Walkthrough & Curing
We inspect every detail with you, clean the work area, and provide clear curing instructions. Light foot traffic is safe within 24 hours, with full cure in 3-7 days depending on finish type.
