Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our flooring installation services. Can't find your answer? Call (215) 430-1755 and ask.
How long does a typical flooring installation take?
Most single-room installations are completed in one to two days. Larger projects covering multiple rooms or an entire home typically take three to five days. We provide a detailed timeline during your free consultation so you know exactly what to expect.
How much does flooring installation cost?
Costs vary based on the type of flooring, room size, and subfloor condition. Carpet is generally the most affordable option, while hardwood and tile installations are higher due to material and labor complexity. We provide free, no-obligation estimates so you can make an informed decision with transparent pricing.
Which flooring type is best for my home?
It depends on your lifestyle, budget, and the room. Hardwood is ideal for living areas and adds long-term value. LVP is perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, and basements because it is 100% waterproof. Tile works best in wet areas and high-traffic zones. Carpet adds warmth and comfort to bedrooms and family rooms. We help you choose the right fit during your consultation.
Do I need to prepare my subfloor before installation?
We handle all subfloor preparation as part of our installation process. This includes leveling, moisture testing, and any necessary repairs. A properly prepared subfloor is essential for a long-lasting installation, and our team ensures everything is right before the first plank or tile goes down.
Can you install LVP over my existing floor?
Often, yes. When your existing floor is solid, flat, and dry, we can install luxury vinyl plank (LVP) directly over it, which means less demolition, less mess, and lower cost for you. If the subfloor is uneven, damaged, or holds moisture, we prep or level it first so the new floor lasts. We confirm the right approach during your free in-home estimate.
What does the LVP installation process look like?
Every install starts with the subfloor: we make sure it is level, dry, and sound. Your LVP then acclimates inside your home so the planks stay stable once down, and we snap chalk lines and stagger the seams so long runs stay straight and the finished pattern looks natural. We work in clean sections and leave your home tidy. You can see real photos of our process on our About page.
Do my new floors need to acclimate before installation?
Yes. We let your flooring sit inside your home before we install it so it adjusts to your space’s real temperature and humidity. Skipping acclimation is a common cause of gaps and buckling later, so we build that time into the schedule rather than rushing the job.
Who actually installs my floor?
Dan supervises every job himself, from the estimate to the final walkthrough, and the installers on your project are his own hand-picked crew. You will not get a rotating cast of strangers or a job handed off to whoever was available that week. The crew that shows up is the one Dan trusts with his name on the work.
Do I need to move my furniture before installation?
No. Our crew moves your furniture as part of the job, and it is included in your estimate at no extra charge. If you have fragile or high-value pieces you would rather handle yourself, just point them out during the free estimate and we will plan around them.
What warranty do you offer on installation?
We stand behind our work with a comprehensive installation warranty. In addition, the flooring materials carry their own manufacturer warranties which vary by product. We walk you through all warranty details before your project begins so you have complete peace of mind.
How do I maintain my new floors?
Maintenance varies by flooring type. Hardwood benefits from regular sweeping and occasional refinishing every 7 to 10 years. LVP and tile are low maintenance. Just sweep and mop. Carpet should be vacuumed weekly and professionally cleaned annually. We provide a care guide specific to your flooring at the end of every installation.
